This blog was inspired by a male Austinite that grilled me for my first date spot recommendations in the Austin area. An entertainment blogger in Austin, Rebecca Otis (Rebeccammendations.com), and I attempted to answer our friend's burning question. With one satisfied customer on the books, it seemed clear to me that we needed to share our first date spot secrets with others. Since our readers are from various cities throughout the United States, we decided that the Love Kudos needed to spread the "Love" and include top first date spots for Altanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Washington D.C. on our blog. Our date suggestions are a collection of responses from our friends, chow.com, yelp.com, and our own numerous personal experiences. If we missed your favorite first date place, feel free to leave a comment and we can add it to our list.
The question we are attempting to answer for our online daters is, "Where do you take or meet someone that you have never physically met before?" This is part one of our series on top first date spots for popular cities in the United States. For our married readers, you can always pretend. When I was in a serious relationship, as a change up from our usual dinner spots, we would seek out fun new restaurants or dives.

First Date Basic Tips from Lauren K. :
1) I am somewhat old fashioned here, but I think the guy should pay for the first date, regardless of the outcome. Dating is somewhat of a gamble. Lindsay decided not to go out with Trevor partly because of his comment about payment for their future dinner. (Reference to the Blog, Dinner for Sex: I don't think so)
2) Time and length of date is really up to you, but it should not end in a bed with you and your date completely naked. Planned dates have a different set of expectations than hook ups after meeting at a bar. Sleeping together on a first date is a conscious choice and not one that I would ever endorse if you want a relationship with this person. I know there are couples out there that defy this social norm, but why chance it with odds that are so against you. Guys, would you like to weigh in here with your opinion ?
3) Bring breath mints or gum just in case there is some smooching on the date. Try to be slick about when you actually use the breath mint. I find it so uncomfortable when you are in the car at the end of a date and a guy asks you if you would like a mint or gum. It is pretty clear what they are intending to try to do in just a couple of minutes. Fresh breath is important. Sixteen Candles clip
4) In case your date is awful, have a friend text you or call you a half hour into the date. Be prepared with "Your get out now" excuse. Don't be afraid to end the date early if neither party is interested. Salvage your night or day, because you don't have to drown in bad date hell.

Lauren, thanks for the shout out to www.Rebeccammendations.com! The ATX suggestions are great. I'd also Rebeccammend the Belmont, Hotel San Jose, or Malverde for an awesome dtown view!

Nessesaries. Also, I'd add definetly not to end the first date in bedroom. Cheap.
